Alice Chen Smith is the Managing Partner of Yoka | Smith, LLP and an experienced trial attorney who has successfully tried many jury trials to verdict. Her primary focus is litigating catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death cases and business litigation matters. She practices throughout the State of California in trial and appellate courts. Her work has led to her selection as a Super Lawyers – Southern California Rising Star from 2012 to 2020, and a Super Lawyer since 2022. In 2022 and 2023, she was named one of the Women of Influence: Attorneys by the Los Angeles Business Journal. In 2023, she was honored as a Leader of Influence: Minority Attorneys by Los Angeles Business Journal. She was also named one of 500 Leading Litigators in America by Lawdragon in 2022.
Alice was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) as a member of the Los Angeles Chapter in 2019 and currently serves as the Chapter’s Membership Co-Chair. She is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC), the largest regional defense bar organization in the country. Alice also serves as a Board Member with the Los Angeles Chapter of Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) and a committee member on the Los Angeles County Bar Association President’s Advisory Committee on Women in the Legal Profession (LACBA PAC Committee).
Alice obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Chicago and Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School.
